One of our "Move in" Teams.
Move in days are one of the happiest times at Family Promise. They would not be possible without our many volunteers: those who volunteer time, muscle, and hugs for our Families.

This month our "Volunteer spotlight" shines on ~

Calvin Harris, Alvin Jenkins and Steve Krupski from First Farragut United Methodist, and Paul & Marcia Fisher from Powell Presbyterian.

We are happy to Welcome A New Year and this month's Volunteer Spotlight:  Marisa.  Marisa's birthday is close to Christmas. Therefore, she asked all her friends to bring a gift for Family Promise of Knoxville to her party instead of a gift for herself! Marisa and her Mom sent information to all her guests about Family Promise of Knoxville, along with her Birthday Party invitation.
Thanks to Marisa and her friends, we received many new toys for the New Day Center and personal hygiene items for our families in the program. We are so grateful to Marissa for her thoughtfulness.

The girls of Brownie and Daisy Troop 20417 are our featured volunteers this month. They raised money, planned purchases, shopped, decorated and personally delivered their donations with smiles all around!
We have the best volunteers and we are so thankful!

Volunteer Spotlight: Nov. 2013

Louella McElroy and Patti Kirk, Family Promise volunteers at Ascension Episcopal, learned folks that are homeless don't usually buy pajamas - shoes and clothes for school are so much more important. So, the day the families arrive, each child has a freshly made bed and a new pair of pj's on the pillow. Often the kids are so excited they put them on right away and wear them to dinner! Patti and Louella feel they receive the best gift - the great big smiles of kids in their new pajamas!
Thank You to Patti, Louella, and all of our Volunteers
We think you guys are the best!
